On July 8th, 2025, we were thrilled to welcome 35 students from Nippon Designer School Tokyo (NDS) and Nippon Photography Institute (NPI) to our NDS Malaysia campus for a meaningful and creative cultural exchange event!
A total of 73 students came together in Hall 101 for a fun-filled morning of presentations, group discussions, and sharing sessions cantered around art and communication.
🌟 What Happened?
From self-introductions to portfolio sharing, students explored their similarities, differences, and future creative challenges.
Highlights of the day included:
- 🎨 Art & Portfolio Exchange
- 🤝 Ice-breaking games
- 🗣️ Group discussions and presentations on cultural topics
- 🍱 Lunch with fellow students from both campuses
Ms. Nagayama Moe, Manager of NDS Malaysia and a graduate of NPI, shared her career journey and why she chose to work in Malaysia.
NDS Malaysia students introduced Malaysia culture and local food to the Tokyo students — in both Bahasa Melayu and Japanese!
Tokyo students from NDS and NPI shared what their daily life and activities after class look like, helping us all gain a deeper understanding of each other’s experiences.
During the break, we prepared some snacks and postcard-sized artwork created by our students — a little taste of local creativity for our Tokyo guests
Team Activities
After the break, students were divided into mixed Malaysian-Japanese groups.
The main activity was “Profile Sharing” — students introduced themselves, their hobbies, and
Each group then gave a short presentation about:
- What similarities and differences they discovered
- What creative challenges or goals they want to take on in the future
These were presented in both Japanese and English, showcasing true cross-cultural collaboration!
Through this event, NDS Malaysia became a platform for fostering deeper communication between Malaysian and Japanese students.
